Software Engineer, Javascript
This position will be primarily concerned with developing and supporting enterprise-class web applications and services and to work in a collaborative environment finding solutions to technical challenges. Leveraging a deep knowledge of HTML/CSS, MVC frameworks, OOP techniques, and proficiency with JavaScript/DOM and JavaScript frameworks, you will work on building and releasing front and backend applications that produce interactive digital experiences. In this position the Javascript Engineer will be utilizing cutting edge technologies to develop exceptional User interfaces and converting screen mockups into code. You will also collaborate tightly with with backend engineers and other business team members as needed..
* Essential web technologies: JavaScript (jQuery/Prototype), AJAX, JSON, DOM Scripting, HTML5, JavaScript MVC frameworks, CSS, unobtrusive JavaScript.
* Emerging technologies and understanding concepts to building backend services with Node.js and related frameworks.
* Working with Git source code management
* Web Service development standards (REST, WADL, etc.)
* SQL and database concepts
* Design patters such as MVC or MVVM
* Cross-browser development (Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.)
* BS in computer science, or equivalent
* 3+ years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining web sites and applications.
* 3+ years of scripting experience with JavaScript, JSON-based asynchronous APIs, and at least one JavaScript library (JQuery, etc.)
* The ability to thrive on technical challenges.
* Experience in an agile development life-cycle
* A passion for the online video web space.
