Data Analyst / Software Engineer
o This candidate will lead the data processing and data analysis team (~ 6 individuals) responsible for processing test data and determining the performance of an inertial navigation and measurement system used in a Navy weapon system.
o This position entails data collection, data reduction, interpretation, and presentation of test data from flight vehicles and laboratory tests. Data sources will include the unit under test and the test cell, and will need to be correlated and analyzed.
o Collected data will be for the candidates own use and analysis, or provided to other analysts and engineers. Tracking, management, and archival of this data is required. Analysis efforts will include long-term trending, anomaly investigation, and performance report generation, etc.
o There will be an initial effort to lead the team in modernizing existing software and tools and porting them to a new platform for long-term support. Documentation of the rehosted software will be required.
o A Bachelor¿s degree in engineering, math or computer science discipline and a minimum of 5 years experience is required. The ability to work as a team member in a technically challenging environment is required. The ideal candidate will be self motivated and be able to work in a field office environment.
o Engineering skills and experience should include the following:
¿ C, C++, Java computing languages
¿ Data processing, including a familiarity with MATLAB software
¿ Adherence to software process
¿ Strong data analysis and presentation skills
¿ Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills
o Education and/or experience in any of the following areas would be a plus:
¿ Database operations
¿ Statistics
¿ Inertial guidance system concepts.
