Informatics Lead Consultant
•Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or related discipline is required.
•Minimum of five years experience in information systems and analysis or related business experience. At least three years experience in the health care industry and demonstrated progressive responsibility and accountability for information systems development.
•Strong understanding of both technology and business practices is required.
•Comprehensive understanding of application development lifecycles, project management, technology infrastructure, databases, reporting tools and related issues.
•Excellent knowledge of health care industry issues is required. Practical, tactical and in-depth knowledge of the healthcare industry, including reform, competition, contracting and use of quality metrics in contracting is required. Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge to key departmental and cross-functional initiatives is highly desired.
•Excellent troubleshooting methodology and analytical skills.
•Demonstrated ability to set priorities, create a team to meet objectives for complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, and execute according to plans is required.
•Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, project management, Cognos, and relational database software is required.
•An advanced degree with technology as a core component is desired.
•Certification by the Academy of Healthcare Management is a plus.
•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are required. Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills to maintain and build relationships.
•Prior project management leadership experience is a plus.
•Prior experience with a national health care organization is a plus.
•Technical proficiency with SQL, business process mapping such as Visio, and Adobe Life Cycle is highly desired.
•Demonstrated ability to lead and organize multiple teams and simultaneous projects is highly desired. The ability to effectively delegate responsibilities to other team members is highly desired.
•Demonstrated ability to proactively solve issues and identify solutions/interventions to meet business needs is highly desired. The ability to gain various viewpoints and arrive at critical decisions is highly desired. The ability to problem solve independently and as part of a team is highly desired.
•Demonstrated ability to identify organizational processes and political nuances that influence the development of deliverables is desired.
•Strong customer-service mindset. Ability to explain complex technological issues in non-technological terms a plus.
