Job Type: Regular Full-Time
Responsibilities:
1. Performs the function of software systems architect for Digital Home business unit
2. Work with Marketing and software management to define software roadmap.
3. Define software architecture based on software roadmap.
4. Define system software requirements and architectural design to drive Linux kernel and application implementation.
5. Work with ASIC architect to define system architecture. Serve as gatekeeper to ensure software design is consistent with system architecture.
6. Acts as technical interface to customers to translate customer requests to system requirements.
7. Align Linux kernel architecture with SOC HW architecture. Define elegant implementation to enable HW acceleration and features through standard Linux programming interface.
8. Work with Marketing to sell software platform to customers at early stage of engagement.
9. Owner of SW aspect of ASIC bring up process and diagnostics.
10. Produce and own detailed system architecture and design documentation
Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
1. 8 years experience contributing kernel changes to Linux open source community
2. 10 years working experience with Linux kernel and driver development.
3. 5 years experience with ARM based SoC platform.
4. Experience with multicore SoC required.
5. Experiences in building one of following products: security, high end home gateway, media gateway, and/or storage.
6. Experience with building video codec is a plus.
7. Education: minimum MSEE/CS, PhD plus.
8. Must have excellent communication skills including persuasion, presentation and customer interface skills.
9. Excellent documentation skills required.
10. Must demonstrate teamwork and flexibility.
