Software Development Engineer, Senior
- Web Application Development
- Participate in design reviews.
- Prepare design note(s) when team identifies the need for prepared documentation of product features.
- Predict work estimates for stories and/or tasks.
- Provide ongoing feedback on deliverables.
- Write well documented & high performing code including source code documentation that meets organizational standards.
- Solicit code reviews for work and participate in code reviews of others’ work.
- Create and run unit tests. Deliver automated tests to QA for inclusion in a regression test bed when appropriate. Test on multiple configurations.
- Acquire knowledge necessary to perform job assignments (technology, product and process).
- Provide timely and complete information and document reviews to the publications group.
- Provide timely and complete information to the QA group to facilitate formal testing.
- Share technical information with the team and to a wider audience when appropriate.
Technical Skills Required:
Java Programming and Object Oriented Design Required, JSP and JavaScript Required, HTML, XML, SQL database queries (Oracle experience a plus), Web application infrastructure, Web server (Apache experience a plus), Servlet Engine (Tomcat experience a plus), LDAP Directory Server, Operating System proficiency Microsoft Windows, Unix, Source Code Configuration Management (Subversion experience a plus), Integrated Development Environment experience a plus (e.g. Eclipse)
Business Skills Required:
Excellent Written and Oral Communication skills, Flexibility, Independent, Self-Motivated, Team Player, Consensus building, Familiarly with agile software development practices
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in related field plus 5-8+ years of experience
