Research Engineer/Sr. Research Engineer (Software Development)
Job Description
Work within a small and growing team of highly motivated engineers to design software for COTS and custom rapid prototyping electronic control systems to advanced engine and hybrid vehicle systems using both Simulink and direct C code; work closely with clients to understand control system requirements; work within team to define and develop customized control system features; perform wiring, soldering and electronic troubleshooting as required; support production of reports, proposals and presentations to clients.
Requirements
Requires a BS or MS degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or related discipline with 3 – 5 years experience developing embedded software, software design methodologies and quality control processes. Must have at least a 3.5 GPA. Skills required include basic electronic theory, digital, analog and computer architecture knowledge. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be hands-on, application and result oriented; experience with mechanical aspects of engine/vehicle testing and understanding of combustion and after treatment mechanisms beneficial; detailed knowledge of how sensors and actuators are interfaced through conditioning and drive electronics, controller I/O devices and software drivers highly desirable; must be self-starting and highly motivated individual able to manage multiple assignments concurrently with limited supervision. Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, function generators etc. required. Experience developing low-level device drivers, peripheral interface software required.
