Senior IT Security Engineer

Primary responsibilities:

* Providing functional and technical expertise to formulate information security services scope and objectives, develop and/or modify procedures related to security functions. * Directed focus on Payment Card Industry Standards. Candidate must be well versed in PCI and maintaining compliance in diverse environments. * Execute security projects in diverse areas, including intrusion detection, end point security, and protecting cardholder data. * Evaluate proposed systems and applications to determine information security concerns, developing plans to address. * Monitor security logs and events to ensure policy compliance and to detect and research potential security breaches. * Troubleshoot and affect resolution of network, infrastructure, or application security issues. * Research and assist in the design and implementation of information security solutions. * Communicate security related matters to all levels of IT management effectively, both orally and in writing. * Administer and maintain security toolset. IDS/IPS, SIEM, Firewalls, etc… * Conduct assessments, monitoring, and mitigation of threat sources and technical vulnerabilities to production technologies (e.g. networks, systems, applications), identify potential threats and respond to reported security violations. * Work closely with application development and infrastructure teams ensuring solutions meet security requirements.

Job Requirements: Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, and 5+ years of hands on security work experience. Or, 7+ years of equivalent work experience. * CISSP and CCIE (Security) certifications Preferred. CHFI, CEH, CEPT, SANS/GIAC, CISA certifications a plus. * Experience with regulatory compliance laws and business drivers including strong working knowledge around PCI as well as familiarity with SOX and others. * Ability to analyze, diagnose, and correct problems related to information technology security systems. * Ability to work well with developers, test engineers, and non-engineering personnel. * Understanding of security architecture, with a strong focus on good security practices. * Strong working knowledge of security monitoring, IDS, NAC, and vulnerability scanners. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Excellent coordination and planning skills. * Hands on experience with JAVA development, application scanning and penetration testing a plus.
